  Martin Iroushek, Construct: «From carjacking and theft protects only mechanical lock»

  
  Sensational novelty – a system of car double protection Construct Vario - became the main theme of visit by Construct in October in Ukraine. Management of the leading European manufacturer of mechanical anti-theft systems visited the office of the exclusive importer SPV Company Ltd. in Kiev. We questioned the commercial director of Construct  (Czech Republic) Martin Iroushek (Martin Iroušek) about the new locks and old traditions of protection the vehicles against theft and burglaries. 

   

  - What methods of protection against theft are considered as the most reliable in the homeland of Construct: mechanical, electronic or a combination of them?

  - Lock is a lock: closed - and the car is not stolen. Of course, there are "upscale craftsmen" , but the system that locks the gearbox and hood complicate the plans of the intruders so, that they mostly refuse to steal a car, protected with a mechanical anti-theft lock. On electronic means there always are anti-means. Signalizing with immobilizer are sometimes mounted in the Czech Republic, but in combination with mechanical anti-theft locks.

   

  

   

  - Products of Construct are popular in Ukraine for nearly 15 years. In November, the Ukrainian market is waiting for a new anti-theft Construct Vario system. What makes it fundamentally different from the previous models?

  - Construct Vario is a "two in one" lock. With one turn of the key it locks both the gear box and the hood cover. Until now, we were focused on the protection against theft, which was provided by the gearbox lock. However, car owners also suffer the serious damage from theft of the elements located in the engine compartment. Most often the headlight, batteries, electronic control units are stolen. Construct Vario solves two problems at once: the theft and the burglary of the hood with the consequences.

   

  - How does Construct company inform the public about the need of mechanical protection of the car?

  - The most effective way - is a direct interaction with people. Such possibility gives us the Safety Days, which are regularly organized by the local authorities, police and fire departments in different regions Czech cities. We participate in these activities on a commercial basis. A registration fee allows the Construct company to place a stand with advertising and information to answer the visitors' questions, offer them entertainment and gifts. An important channel for dissemination the information about mechanical protection against theft is the auto installation centers. With media we work mainly on the promotional basis. Although it is worth noting that after our conference dedicated to a new Construct Vario system, relations with the mass media changed towards partnership. Journalists regularly interview us as the experts on auto security. About once every two weeks there is a publication, in which the representatives of Construct explain the advantages of mechanical and electromechanical protection of cars, tell how the company weathered the economic crisis and what our plans for future are. For such appearance in media we do not pay: apparently, the theme is so in demand that a literate comment for a publication is more valuable that the advertising placement. And, of course, it cannot be not said about insurance companies.

   

  

   

  - What is the cooperation of Construct with insurance companies?

  - Our cooperation is beneficial to all three participants agreed. Firstly, the car owner receives discounts from 6 to 10% on car insurance, if the anti-theft lock Construct is installed. Secondly, the insurance company wins: it is much less likely to pay damages for the stolen cars or their parts. Statistics is relentless: Construct locks reduce the number of thefts at times. Our profit - is the effective advertising and increasing the number of buyers. In Czech Republic there are about a dozen of insurance companies, and we are cooperating with all of them. 

   

  - With the Czech market the relations of Construct company are clear. And which way do you develop outside your country?

  - Of course, we want to win all the markets! In the EU we go, versed with the new quality certificates. To date, the most powerful our partners are Ukraine and Russia. Ukrainian market we have won thanks to the professionalism and efforts of the exclusive distributor, SPV Company Ltd. It's not only the company-distributor. SPV Company Ltd. can convince the Ukrainian buyer in the need for mechanical protection against theft and car theft, but also cares about making Construct products to be qualitatively mounted. SPV Company Ltd. has introduced high demands on the installation of anti-theft locks. Because of that, in Ukraine are supplied only ideally suited for a particular model of car locks of mechanical protection. You have the civilized installation, the testing of new products. What didn’t fit immediately, is sent to us for revision and is not corrected with a hammer, as it, unfortunately, happens in other countries.
