Advantages and application of ROSSLARE® network controllers

The main advantage of ROSSLARE® network controllers is that these devices allow you to build an access control system (ACS) on objects with any number of access points by combining them into a single network. Depending on the model of ROSSLARE® controller, network can combine different number of devices in accordance with the needs of the subject. For example, the simplest network controller ROSSLARE® AC-115 allows you to connect to the network up to 8 controllers – in other words to build a network online access control system with eight access points, suitable for small businesses with few employees.

For medium and large enterprises in the line of ROSSLARE® products there are powerful network controllers (AS-215, AS-225, AS-425 and new AS-825), which, depending on the model, allow us to construct a network ACS with almost unlimited number of access points and users (the maximum number of access points using the controller AC-825 reaches several tens of thousands). ACS, based on ROSSLARE® network controllers can be built using both the "classical" RS-485 interface, and also using TCP/IP interface, which enables the integration of controllers in the information infrastructure of the enterprise without laying additional lines (models AC-215IP, AC -225IP, AC-425IP and AC-825IP).

The second advantage of ROSSLARE® network controllers is that the controller operates under the control of special software that allows you to efficiently manage user access rights through administrative PC. Including the granting of rights according to the schedule, getting the information about all system events in real time, banning the second pass (prevents abuse by transferring the access card from employee, who has already passed into the territory, to another person). In addition, the system allows you to remotely control the door, to find out about the latest location of employees, to keep records of working hours and the like.

The third important advantage of ROSSLARE® network controllers – is the ability to integrate into a video surveillance system and the system of the object’s security. For example, the network controller ROSSLARE® AC-525 with support for video surveillance and video recording allows you to broadcast live images and record on a local USB-drive, thanks to integration with CCTV solution. ROSSLARE®AC-525 controller supports up to 4 doors, two analog PTZ-cameras and two audio channels. And the use of additional software modules makes it possible to recognize license plates and to administrate the use of service parking area.

Reliability of the ACS functioning on the object depends on the actuators of the system. Depending on the needs of the object, the system can be equipped with Finnish electromechanical locks ABLOY®, German electric latches EFF EFF®, electric bolt locks YLI®, American magnet locks SECURITRON® and Japanese doors closers RYOBI®.
